I struggled to write an “About Me.” I really did. I tried a dozen variations with GPT. I didn’t want to write something that was just about my work. I wanted something that felt like me. But, truth be told, a lot of my life has become my work. You can read more about that on the Projects page.

Some time ago, someone asked me, “What do you do for fun?” Another person asked, “What’s your absolute favorite thing in the world?” I had to really think. Because I love a lot of things. I love playing. I love building. I love hanging out with friends and family. I love Minecraft. But if I had to pick one thing, I think I’d say: building stuff. It’s not always fun in the moment (debugging sucks), but it brings me deep satisfaction.

Playing is a close second. I want to play all my life. I’ve tried many sports, but my favorites are Ultimate Frisbee (played competitively in college; made some of my best friends through it), squash, swimming, and running. I want to do an Ironman someday. I can swim well. Running and cycling... we’re getting there.

I love dogs. I want three: a golden retriever, a Bernese mountain dog, and a border collie.

I love The Lord of the Rings. I always watch the extended versions (the correct way). My favorite TV show is After Life, and I enjoy The Blacklist (mostly for Raymond Reddington). Sitcoms have been a big part of my downtime — I’ve binged The Big Bang Theory ten times, and done multiple runs of Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Office. I don’t watch as much anymore, but those shows raised me a little.

I love softies. One day, I’ll have a softy machine in my house and another in my office. I also love haircuts. Seriously.

I want a bowling alley in my home someday. I recently went go-karting and I think that might need to be there too.

I love ThinkPads. And putting stickers on them.

I love cinnamon. Especially baked cinnamon things — rolls, toast, anything warm with that smell. It feels like comfort.

I want to live close to my friends and family. If hostel life has taught me anything, it’s that being one shout away from the people you love is magical.

I’ve been lucky to travel a lot thanks to my family, and I want to keep doing that. Travel unlocks something in your brain that’s hard to explain, but you feel it.

I want to make useful things all my life. I want to help people. If there was a graph with “impact” on the Y-axis and “number of people” on the X, I want to maximise the area under the curve.

When my younger brother was about six, he once said: “Hum yaha fun karne aaye hai.” That line stuck with me. It’s become my life motto.

Thanks for reading. I’ve been trying to figure out how to compress “About Me” into a short page... but I don’t think I can. So consider this a bunch of random facts. A sketch, not the full picture.
